opinions on dual catback

I'm getting ready to do up the exhaust. I'm just wondering if I should change the cat to one of these since I'm going to split the exhaust anyways.

The cool thing is that it's OBD-II CARB compliant. Could this be an alternative to getting a custom y-pipe or would this even work/fit? BTW, I'm not sure if I'll ever get some headers, but I would like to get better flow through the cat. I'm just guessing that this would give me better flow with the s/c. I think I'm gonna go for this muffler or something similar.

I like the rolled edge, like the TRD muffler. But, will this fit on the driver's side?
