i put in my short ram intake on my car, 1998 toyota camry le v6
after i put in, i get the check engine light, got it checked out and error code p0171 (system too lean, bank 1)
dont know what to do, i tried a lot of stuff but nothin works so far
can someone post pictures of an installed intake on a 98 camry v6 so i can look at the setup and look at mine to see if it is installed correctly? or tell me what to do plz
i got the pic below of mine but its the best one i have so far
Yo, where the hell is the Mass Airflow Sensor thing. Don't tell me u put the intake on without that. I thought the V6's have the Mass Airflow Sensor.
Disconnect the negative battery cable for a few seconds. The Check light should go away. But u may have not connected something.
NO ITS NOT!, the MAF is that big black thing with the tub through the center and the connector on it and the hose that goes to the engine too... your engine is running fine, but you have no way of checking the air flow on the way into the engine... therefore you get codes...
when you install an intake on the v6, you have to leave all the black tubing, and just take out the air box and put a cone filter on that... there ya go, just do that, and then take the battery off for 15 minutes then connect it and start er up and you will see, no more codes...
were did u get thi intake from.i got 1 from ebay and it was 3inch piping which kept trowing my cel and then i got the injen which i thin is like 2.75inches not really sure and eveything stop no more cel.so i think it might be to big of piping and to much air imo....

Don't forget the MAF sensor adaptor plate.

I think he has the MAF on there correctly as he states, the '97 and up use a different style that in this case mounts into the side of the pipe, as it did on the original rubber one, as opposed to the '94-'96 style that was fitted between the intake pipe and the airbox.

Adapter plates are only needed for 92-93 V6's that used AFM's. 94-95 MAFs you could just screw the open air element on. And 96+ used the side-mounted MAF like most modern Toyota's.
the maf is installed correctly becuz if i didnt have it in, the engine would not even start. my friend took my car to the shop yesterday and they told us that i need to change the MAF becuz the stock reads too much air, im gonna get a new one so if anyone know where to get a good one, cheap preferably, please reply, thanks
