Question which engine is it?

I know this has probably been talked about, but I don't want to read through every post and I did try to search but, how do I figure out which engine I have? I've searched through my engine compartment but don't see any letters/numbers that match what i've seen in posts. I have a `96 camry xle. . . any help??

If it is a 2.2 (4 cylinder) then it is the 5sfe
if it is a 3.0 (6 cylinder) then 1MZ-FE

Is this what you mean ?

Look at the intake/exhaust manifolds.

If you see 2 rows of 3, then that's a V6.

1 row of 4, then it's a 4-cyl.

Easier than using the search button isn't it?

the engine block has the code on it, 1mz...

a lot of the times, a sticker on the underside of the hood might have that info. maybe?

it says 1mz on the ECU
