AS far as i can tell, it just tells the computer to shift at near redline instead of before that.

I think it does. I mean, whats the point of putting a button on that dosn't do anything?

Yes it does. Shifts later so car stays in power band. Shift point are very important to a cars straight line performance.

Yup! All the time, except for when I am going up a large hill and it downshifts when I want it in 4th (on the HWY going over a bridge)

I notice some performance in ECT mode.. but I think that the overdrive button has a lot to do with shifting too. Makes thing a little quicker when you pass someone... just be careful about reving to high

The overdirve button is 4th gear, it doessn't change shifting, just prevents you from getting in 4th.

And LOL. Theres actually 6 people that said that they dont feel a difference at all with the button on. To them I say:

"I think your button is broken. Try searching on how to fix it."

Like most things you can do with a car--I think it makes things feel faster though they're really not by any appreciable amount.
My friend and I are going to compare if any of the little things like the ECT button, a K&N filter, a clean throttle body, and a new fuel filter can actually make a difference by racing my camry against his 2002 Corolla S (we raced before without any of that stuff and he won...though we didn't actually have a finish line...and some jackass in a BMW decided he was racing as well and made it quite clear just how easily he could kick our asses).
