Camry armrests

I saw a picture the other day of a Camry with tweeters in the upper part of the front armrest. I've been trying to find some pics and info about them. I'm trying to decide whether to get these armrests or mount my tweeter in the sail panel. Any suggestions, comments, or help would be appreciated.

What gen camry do you have? I think those are standard on all 3.5's (or at least I had them on my old 96)... possibly 3's too?

if you mean the armrest on the door then i believe only some camry's came with them...maybe they had a premium sound package or something cause not all have separate tweeters

if you mount them on the sail, you'll be able to bring the sound image up higher but in the armrest with a good angle will sound great and be a bit easier if you can get your hands on that door handle

I'm talking about on the armrest. On the top corner where it mounts to the door panel. Mine isn't an XLE so it doesn't have it. I thought they would look better mounted on the armrest rather than the sail panel but wasn't sure of how it would sound. Anyone know where I can get a used set of arm rests so I don't have to cut mine?

yes, well at first i was just thinking you were talking about the center armrest (first thing i think of when i hear armrest) so i was like...what a weird pos for a tweeter haha

it'd be cheaper to just cut your door handle and it's quick and easy...and if you bought components, they should offer a case for teh tweeters to go in so you can angle them

I just call that the console. different people different strokes i guess, or maybe i'm just wierd.

I got a couple new armrests and sail panels today so i'm gonna use some double tape and see where the tweeters sound best before i start and then i'll go from there. i got a new set so i can always put the originals back in if i ever sell my car or find my dream 96 6 cylinder 5 speed.
