Help on hooking up oil pressure gauge & coolant temp gauge?

I just got 2 new toys for my GEN 3 Camry, and wondering how would I hook them up...? The oil pressure gauge came with a oil sender unit, do I have to use that unit or can I hook it up directly to the oil pressure switch...? Also the coolant temp gauge also come with a coolant temp sensor....would it be okay if I hooked it up to the OEM coolant temp sensor?

Thanks lots...kevin

I know that people who turbocharge their Camry would use a kind of "T"adapter to fit their oil pressure sensor along with their oil feed line. Perhaps you could use this kind of stuff which I think you could find in any performance parts store

You need to find a tee adapter that has:

BSPT (F) (original oil pr sw)
|
|
------------- NPT 1/8" (F) (New oil press sensor)
|
|
BSPT (M) (To cyl head)

Then the BSPT male goes into the cylinder head (where your oil pressure switch is now), stock oil pressure sw goes into the BSPT female, and your new oil press sending unit goes into the NPT fitting.

Look on SummitRacing.com for these fittings. I think they're there.

As far as the coolant temp...you need to find out what the gauge expects as far as the resistance range. If this ranges matches the CTS in you car, then you can make it work. Do you have the detailed info on the gauge?

I found sun-cp7573 and atm-2269 on Summit. These are the BSPT to NPT adapters. In fact the atm-2269 is exactly for what you're doing.

For the tee, go to:
http://www.adaptall.com/F-MetricConversion-brass.htm
and look at part # 8095. I think that's what you want.

You may want to give them a call and tell them the threads you need. Make sure it's made out of brass!
