If your Hyper is a 3" ID straight-through muffler, and you get some nice 3" mandrel piping for it, then its perfectly fine.

I think even 2.5" ID is fine for a stock 3SGTE.

My 2 cents...

my current is running on 2.5" mandrel bent hks hyper.... and the 3sgte wont be stock... so u still think the 3" would do good w/ the hyper??? just curious so i dont have to sell my setup... and save some $$

totaly up to the 3" pipe id for optimal Hp on in it from what i hear.....Turbo=3"
pipe n/a 2'1/2 or 2'1/4
I think HKS is the shit anyways so you chould be scared and you don't a 3" straight though becasue by me it has rice all over it.
And you need some back presure so 2 1/2 should do for the muffler

Hey bro ... sorry for the late response...
3" inch is definitly the way to go with a unboltable cat and make a straight pipe replacement for the track use... I personnally like the HKS mufflers... I'm going with a HKS Carbon-Ti just for that bling bling flair... Plus the Carbon-Ti is the same as the hyper and both sound the same... I love the deep rumble in low rpms and the F1 sound when it gets up to higher rpms... But, I'll probably endup doing a flaired piping... 3" till the axle and it might open up to 3.25" ... It all depends on how the straight 3" will fair in the dyno... either way I'll be sponsored for the exhaust system anyway, not by HKS mind you its a company that I'm currently talking to right now...
