valve cover gasket 220 camry?

is there a secret to changeing this gasket that i dont know about? my other car there are 8 bolts along the top. what about this? i dont see any bolts. will it come off with the spark plugs taken out?? 1992 camry 2200 auto

I believe once the plug wires are out of the way, there is a large nut around each hole to remove the valve cover. If the valve cover is stuck, just use a rubber mallet or wood and hammer, never metal on metal. Also, I don't believe there is a valve cover gasket, I think it's just RTV sealant or the like.

yeah dont respond if you dont know! i hate when people do that. it totally defiets the purpose of the forum...

there is a gasket... you need to take off the 4 huge nuts around the spark plug holes, then you need to like pry the cover off with something, NOT where the gasket is, but just try and wedge something in the side or soemthing to push it to the side... you dont wanna wreck the surfaces where the gasket goes...

Well excuse me. I just completely took apart an entire 5S-FE a couple months ago. I really dont remember this gasket on mine, just a bunch of RTV. Maybe it was a cheap fix, or maybe I just forgot about the gasket. Either way..SORRY.

they all have rubber gaskets around the valve cover. maybe a bunch of rtv was there too... i dunno... maybe whoever had the engine before you did some crappy job on making his own gasket or some shit...
