Front license plate mounting

Bought my father-in-law's 99 Camry. Michigan car so no front plate mounting. Iowa requires one. I would prefer not to hack up the bumper if there are captive nuts hiding under the bumper cover. Anyone know? Thanks Selpaw

I'm pretty sure you're going to have to drill holes and attach the license plate holder to your bumper. There was a guy at the dealership when I bought my car and he threw a fit because he special ordered his car and wanted it without the front license plate and they had to order him another car without the holes.

my gen 3's just got holes drilled in the bumper, you won't see the holes anyways the plate's gonna cover them up

i guess if you really don't want to drill you could get some of that 3m double sided really sticky tape and just put a strip of that on the top

Very illegal. Cops will pull you over even if you're from out of state and don't have the front license plate. I got pulled over 7 times when I drove my Kansas car out there a couple of years ago. They couldn't do anything but they'll pull ya over to "check it out" and see what other crap they can bust ya for.

If yopu look very carefully at the front bumper, you will see 2 dimples in it. The dimples are like almsot directly in middle, under the the groove.

you dont really need to drill just take your 2 scres and pop them in. I would use a lock-nut and washer to secure itor an anchor screw.
