I suggest you buy some good tyres, perhaps even traction control and offcours lose all the weight you can (including yer own  )

Learn to brake torque PROPERLY. Don't do it too often though... only for those "special" occasions.

You can get good launches that way.

As far as making it faster, I can write you a book on what you can do. How about helping a little by stating how much you want to spend, what kind of shops are around your area, how technically inclined are you, etc.

When you are at a standstill, depress the brake pedal all the way down. Then depress the gas pedal all the way down. You will see the RPMs get up to about 2200 and hold there. When the light turns green, just drop the brake pedal and you should get a nice jump. The RPMs at which you decide to hold it depends on how good your tires are. The whole process up there shouldn't be held for more than about 5 seconds MAX! It heats up your tranny real fast which is not at all good. You have to play with it to figure out the best RPMs and the best way to time it. Every car is different. Learn to do it properly though and don't do it all the time.

Well I do not do cheap, fast mods. I do my research and do things once and do it right! If you aren't going to keep your Camry for long, why bother wasting money on it now then? Just save it for your new car.
