High springs

Hello,

Since I'd be looking to get to North Africa this Summer and I was wondering if it would be possible to get higher springs. Most of you are talking about lower springs but since roads over there are terrible that would be the best option for me (or get a 4wd ;-) ). 5 cm (2 in) or whatever I can get is good. Are there any aftermarket / performance springs that would allow me to do that ? I heard there were kinds of springs allowing to change the height whenever you want with a kind of special tool. Ever heard of this ? Since I don't want to spend of fortune in this used ones would be ideal, or whatever good deal...
By the way my car is a 1992 Camry (5sfe)
Thank you for any advice you may have !

If it is not possible to get such springs, what about if I just get new oem springs. Could it be that my current springs are a bit lower now just because they are 200,000 miles ? Would it change anything ?

They are such springs to raise your car. Check out the sites listed below you'll find something at least on one of them:
Whitleine Automotive
King Springs
Dobinsons Springs

The adjustable ones you're speaking of are coilovers. You don't want those, they're rougher because the spring is actually shorter.
I'd say new OEM is prolly best, might want to get some new OEM struts too.

ok I understand now. Do you think that new oem ones will be higher because they don't have the mileage mines have ?

I had the same problem and wanted to raise my car a bit (I had changed the front springs and struts, the front raised so I wanted to match the rear). I bought rear springs from toyota and also changed the rear struts, rear stayed exactly the same.

You cant raise a car higher then stock height with coilovers. Coilover have the shock's shaft shortened so it wont bottom out when a car is significantly lowered. Because of this you cant go higher then stock with coilovers.

The only feasable solution is to either run stock V6 springs on your 4 cylinder which will raise he car up by about .25 to .5" or get a custom spacer insert made for the bottom spring seat in the strut.

V6 springs will only raise the front. The rear springs are the same.
You might try the springs from a V6 Wagon tho.

that would be inches

a set of springs from a v6 wagon would be your best stock bet, but if you get a responce from any of those companies, they would probably perform better

like he said, a half inch maybe, you could go with bigger tires (taller sidewall)
