Camry Problem posted on YouTube

Hello everyone.
I like to share a video with you showing exactly what problem I am facing in my Camry.
It surely has got something to do with temperature of the car, Speedometer and Odometer are deeply involved unfortunately. When the Interior of car gets extremely hot or cold, Odo and Speedo stops responding. I’ll brief you exactly what happens
1: In the morning when its cold when I turn on the ignition all lights in the combination meter work except for Odometer, It doesn’t show any mileage its completely dead and neither do the Speedo. So the solution I have is to warm up the interior of car by turning on heater for few mins till I get them both active.
2: Same situation during daytime when it’s hot and obviously when the interior of car produces heat, it affects both Speedo and Odo. Then again I have to cool down the temperature by turning on the air conditioner or leave the windows opened for some time.
Dead Speedo or Odo isn’t an issue for me I could live without them but since it affects Automatic Transmission I’m worried. I’ll make this clear that when ODO/Speedo are not working I feel unusual gear shifts and sometimes RPM needle goes up to “5” to shift on 2nd gear, followed by O/D light starts flashing and Engine light turns on BUT………………………. When the temperature of car get normal everything gets normal. No Speedo or Odo problem and neither Engine or O/D lights turn on.

Here’s the video I Uploaded on YouTube just to show everyone.

Please have a look at it and let me know. My car is ’98 Toyota Camry and Engine type is 5S-FE
Thanks

3rd Generation

I'm not entirely familiar with saudi's cold extremes. I know it gets hot certain times of year, but not sure how cold it got.

Since you are dealing with electrical components they are always subject to crazy temps which could definitely throw things off.

BUT with that said I've never seen this problem before. Try posting it in the Gen 3 & 4 section to see if anyone can help.

If not, see a mechanic asap

I watched the video and read the comments. Am I correct that you changed out the entire cluster and with a totally different cld display it did the same thing? If so, then you go up stream electrically. Look at the plug that connects the cluster to the rest of the wiring harness. Clean those contacts if needed. If the hair drier is having such a profound affect, then the temp in that one area must be related and this suggests contraction and expansion. See if the odometer is fued separately from the rest of the cluster and pull and check fuses. Check any ground wires. The problem has nothing to do with engine temp--it wasn't running, right? If you turn on the key and let it sit, how long does it take for the odometer to appear? Forever if no heat applied?? Could this be related to the ignition wiring? Check all connections in the area.
