Cool window tinting

Does anyone have any expierience with window tinting film on how it affects the radio antenna which is built into the rear window of my Avalon? The owners manual says don't do it and I probably agree I shouldn't, but tinted windows look so nice. Any help would be appreciated.

you could always just tint around the antena, or get an antenar like on a jetta installed, or i guess any other old school antenna, s2000 wouldnt be a bad choise either

Cool

My '97xle has the antenna wired into the rear window, and the manual just says to not use metalic type tints.

I had her tinted all around with 3M 20% (non-metalic type) and have experienced no degradation of radio reception.

Just be careful which type you use and you should be OK

pasopaul. i've had my 03 camry tinted. there is no problem having it tinted or whatsoever especially since the antenna line is in the back of the window. i even asked the tint specialist about that question, just in case before i had my car tinted. they said that there is no problem having the back window tinted or any complaints receiving bad signal on customers' radio. i had a metallic tint on my car too and there is no problem with my receptions. also there's many avalons out there tinted 20% 50% or whatsoever but you get the idea... their cars are tinted
