Foglights Malfunction

Hi,
I put in a set of aftermarket Foglights onto my 1994 Camry. I got the auto electrician to link the lights to a switch and also through the parking lights (for the auto-off function).

However, the other day the foglights just stayed on?......the switch was off and the parking lights were off too!.......this has only happened twice, once in April 2003 and then the other day......

Would anyone know what could be going wrong?

Thank you.

Did he use a relay or did he just wire them straight to the parking lights? If it is relayed, it sounds like the relay may be faulty.

Most likely the relay. Fog lights are not that hard to install yourself, you know.

yeah, the electrician did put a relay in. But I forgot to mention that the first time this happened (April 2003) the foglights were wired through only one switch.....and after this problem happened I told the electrician to wire them in with the parking lights aswell so the foglights go through 2 switches.

also what was strange is when this happened the second time the other day, they only turned off when I poked at the wires behind one of the lights?

any ideas on what is going on?

I think you should rewire it yourself. The guy who did it probably didn't know what he was doing.
