What is this box?!

what is the white box behind the front bumper of a 97-99 camry? its on the driver side.. under the battery infront of the wheel well.. anyone help me out ..

It's a resonator box for the air intake. It's supposed to keep your intake quiet although it's probably not loud to begin with.

and profuse007: stalling/rough ide, have you checked all the regular stuff? spark plugs, fuel filter, vacuum hoses, idle air control valve?
