Fluorescent light in boot (white CCFL)

From the interest in thisdj78's threads and Phi's plan to put them in his boot, i might as well show u what it looks like...i did this about 8 months ago after i lost something in the boot one night and the little light that was there couldnt shine for shit...much better now, especially if i need to get something out....

anyway enjoy...and i'm happy to answer any questions

This is my boot with it open but not up....just an indication of how much light the neon puts out...

This is how the boot is usually....taken with a flash

This is the boot open...standing 1m from the bumper..yeah i know its dirty...need to clean it

This was taken with me 2.5-3metres away

This is a shot to show how much light shines down

The inverter...i need to install it more cleanly..and yes that is duct tape holding up the CCFL

Just and indication of the light output on the ground

It took me a couple of secs there to figure out what you were talking about, funny aussies using the term 'boot' and confusing my american ass! Trunk neon. Ok. Hahaha. At first I thought this was something about installing a light in your shifter boot? or something? hehee... nice, now make it a CLEAN install! What type of inverter are you using? Why didn't you just use one that came with a small 12v inverter built into a small switch-box? You know, those ghetto "Studio54" ones that are sold at Wal*Mart?

Good idea tho man!

I have a 20" green streetglow neon mounted in my trunk and wired into my trunk light. It lights up great and the green light doesn't really throw things off either.
