That's about an 85 Camry. Not one of the times in car design history that will go down as superb.

I believe that is an 86 Camry. You can see the third (high mounted) brake light in the rear of the car. That was added to this generation 1 Camry in 86, the last model year of the first generation.

I agree with Mike, its an 86...my parents had one.

You can check craigslist or ebay frequently...they come around for sale now and again.

My dad bought an '84 Camry new, that body style.

For the time, I thought it was very innovative car. It had electronic fuel injection (not every car had it back then) quiet, reasonably roomy, got good fuel economy and had a lot of storage space.

Most of them were sedans (LE or DX) but there were a few rare models, Turbo-diesel was available on the DX trim. 5-door hatchbacks were also available, though not as rare as the diesel.

It was this car that got our family and friends started on the Camry. Our neighbor bought an '85 DX similar to the one in the picture. My dad bought a '96 new after this. I bought an '88 LE, sold it to a freind and still drive the '00 LE.
