ok, now that I have your attention. What I really wanted to ask is, did you buy your own camry or did your parents buy it for you.
I've been on this forum for awhile and cant help to think that a lot of the folks either inherited their camry from their parents or their parents bought it for them. I may be completely wrong but just my gut feel. Or, did you buy it with your hard earned money?
I will start first, I bought my Camry used.
This is just a fun survey. It's cool if your parents bought it for you.
i pay for my 09 and i paid for my 07 with money from work. parents pay insurance and gas usually but i chip in there too once in a while. so i work hard for my car and take really good care of it.
Bought by myself and paying for it by myself. Needed a cosigner though because I dont have credit yet. What really gets ya is the insurance. Im paying half as much as my monthly car payment for insurance!
i took over payments from parents. so really, it's from parents i guess. final payment was last year. paying for it wasn't too bad because i didn't do the down and the monthly was around $200 over 60 months. registration, maintenance, fuel, modifications, and whatnot are from me, but insurance is still under parents due to discount from being with them for decades with a near-perfect record. it's dirt cheap imo.
I paid for half of the Gen5 that my dad drives now since i crashed his car. And i'm paying for my 07 and all the mods i god done to it myself. I have about 6K left after 2 years.
My very first car was a 1991 Camry. That car was previously my Mum's, but then by the time I got my licence, she didn't really need a car anymore since everyone else could drive her around. So that Camry was passed down to me. I guess you could say I was spoilt, but the car was barely worth anything as it was.
After 4 years of driving it though, it was time to get a new car. My Aurion was payed for with my hard earned money. And more and more of it seems to be going towards it as well.
Thats not being spoiled. It was just perfect timing. You took a car that was not going to be used anymore and saved money. You're spoiled when your parents buy you a car for your bday, graduation, just for the hell of it, etc. Not to mention, them paying for your gas, insurance and mods.

Why not branch off and get your own insurance?
I was driving a 1995 Ford Taurus. My dad (being Asian and stingy with money) he wanted me to get my own insurance with no previous record of having insurance because he didnt want his premium to go up and in case I got into an accident. Went to different places and they wanted $2,000/6 months. Finally, he caved and put me under his after seeing the high prices. His premium only went up $600/6 months (liability only). Which I paid him back each time the bill came.
After 2 years under his, I branched off and got my own. I ended up paying only like $400 for the Taurus. As each years passed, it went down. Lowest I got to was $300 or so. Than I got the Camry. Full coverage only made my premium go up almost $500. So I'm paying less than $800 for 2 cars.
edit: i have a job of course.

GAH! I hate have debts or loans. I financed and got 2.9% for 36 months. I wanted 0% but they werent offering it. I didnt even need the other 30 months.
Not everybody on this forum is 16 years old and needs mommy and daddy to buy things for them. Sometimes I feel like an old man after reading threads like this one.
For the record, I bought my Camry myself with money I earned. This is the eleventh car I've owned and I couldn't be happier with it.
Parents downpaid 4K as graduation present... Paying off the rest of the car (1 more month to go!!!) Pay for my own gas and insurance (Parents kicked me out of the family plan after I graduated, which was beneficial to all as our rates all went down) All the mods, paid for myself... No comment on that...
I just realized if I didn't touch my car, I'd been done with my payments looooooong time ago... Hahahaha... whatever
