I just installed the safc for my 2000 Solara V6. Haven't tune it though. I'm now encountering two problems.

1) the check engine light is on all the time.
2) I can't start the car if the safc is disconnected. The car will start up and then kill itself.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be the problem?

thanks,

i'm trying to install my s-afc myself.

I ran over on some site that said to tune it you rich the s-afc and keep leaning it out until it doesn't make your engine light come on.

Is there a possibility that you have your settings a little on the lean side?

OMG! Never ever use this method to tune your car. Using this method you will destroy your engine. $200 is far less than a new engine.
