Unhappy fuel filler lid inop..low on fuel

My 97 Camry's fuel filler lid no longer will pop electronically altho fuse is OK. How to troubleshoot or pop the latch manually. Too low on fuel to go find a dealer where I live.

Well its not electronic...and u can open it by inserting a credit in the middle edge closest to the rear of the car.
It's usually a broken spring, you'll see it on the inside of the door itself. Cheap at the dealer I understand.

Here's a link that may help. This is how I fixed my daughters 99, similar to your 97

Thanks much for the tip and the link...I should'a searched first. Popped it with a screwdriver but from the looks of my latch a credit card wouldn't work....but then my credit cards don't much work anywhere, anyhow. The access thru the metal latch to the plastic spring is too small for anything other than a screwdriver....the car's really a 98, maybe there was a change to prevent "credit card access".

Thanks again.
