I think taking off your hubcaps looks extremely ghetto.
It would only look half-assed if you cleaned the steelies everyday and even then it looks kinda stupid (hence half-assed).
Bare steelies detract from the rest of your car and do not make it look cooler IMHO. Its like spending hundreds of dollars modding your car to make it look badass and the slapping on some $3 altezza tails you bought from E-bay. The car looks fine as it is, I wouldn't mess with it.

i was thinkin bout the spinners....and i would check for rust....if there is some there....i would probably scrap down the wheels and spray paint it....i really dont like the hubs that are on

don't get spinner caps, haha, but take them ugly thangs off and get your self a low cost set of wheels, I can get you some new 17'' Silver ADR Spades w/decent quality new rubbers for $600+shipping.

y would u clean stellies if they are dark. i just spray mine down with water.
