What he said.

And you can make a CAI that can prevent water from going in, and even if it's a short cold air pipe, it'll still more effective than the stock airbox.

Just checkout my website, I have some pretty cheap mods on there.

CAI, Custom grill, painting stuff, clearing/redding out tails, little switches and crap, etc...

Don't do this ... (see bottom of page)

http://www.homestead.com/mongrelmoto.../history2.html

and you won't hydrolock.

Sucking in some rain water would just make you either run really well, or run really bad depending on the amount.

Just build your box large enough it wont fill and put ia small hole in the bottom.

wasn't at idle either, this was on a dyno

How are you guys running that cold air? I would think that the version I'm planning on, which runs into the fender, wouldn't suck up any water provided the inner fender cover is reintalled b/c it still sits fairly high. (on the gen2 there's a hole in the fender which the hood cable and a wiring harness runs through, just have to widen it a bit for the piping)

I suppose it has more to do with how the system is routed?

Steve

Wrong hole.

You want to use the hole underneath the fuse box. After you remove all the stock intake crap you'll see it.
