Ok this one is kickin' my ass. The right-side front sidemarker on my car only lights when it wants to, but I don't see any shorts in the wire and the insulation looks good so I don't think bare wire is hitting anything. Oddly enough, if the thing hasn't lit up and you give the lens a light whack with your hand, suddenly it illuminates?

Any ideas? Is this one of those random gen2 electrical gremlins?

did you check on the connection to the bulb?

Probably bad contacts in the socket. Take out the bulb, get some sandpaper and clean off the contacts. Either that, or replace the bulb. Sometimes the filament in the bulb breaks off but it just hangs there making contact. Smacking it places the filament back on....

lol. Get a new bulb. I had the same problem with one of my low beam bulbs, the filiment is just loose enough to not make contact all the time.

Thanks, guess it is time for a new bulb. I just made sure the bulb was tight in there, not checking the bulb itself or the socket... leave it to me to assume that minor stuff is way worse than it is

I have a bad habit of doing that...
