i have the 01 camry ce w/ the 5sfe i got used a while back where whould the abs be under the hood i know what it looks like (i think). i cant find it (if it has abs) i'm no mechanic but i just whated to know if mine had it.
Regular parking lot. Just get a bit of speed and slam (and hold) the brakes. If you hear a rapid thumping and the car pulses - and you're able to steer the car with the brake pedal all the way down - you have ABS. Just get in a situation where the brakes would normally lock, but do it in a safe area and give yourself some space.
i thought the abs warning light on dash comes on for a few seconds, then off when the ignition key is turn to on position.
if abs light stays on if it is malfunction somewhere.
the abs module normally located on the passenger side, near the coolant reservior, about 6 tiny metal hoses coming out of it,
and if you look at each wheel, there is an abs sensor wire lead to each rotor/axial in addition to the brake wire.
