go to home depot and try to sind 2" or 2 1/2" airduct tubing. take out everyparty of your stock air box. after you do that then just look where you can run the tube. it's pretty simple. i dude this and i ran mine all the way down to the front bumper. its a lot better than a short ai intake.

Did you just buy a cone filter to put on the end?

well at first i bought a shot air intake because i didn't think to make mine in the begining. so used the intake that i already had and just extended it and used the filter from that. but since you didnt buy an intake yet just buy the cone filter and run the tubing wherever you want.i wish i did this the first time, it would ahve saved me 180 bucks. for you if you make it yourself the filter is lke $40 or so if you get K&N and then maybe at the mst $20 in piping and then your time. goodluck. if you have any quests hit me with an email.

First buy a 3inch K and N Cone Filter...Next buy some tubing to fit the cone and go snug into the intake pipe from the stock box...Remove the box...Take a peanut can with the plastic lid and poke 2 holes in the plastic lid to fit the size of the mass air flow sensor and pvc tubing and stick them into the can...Tighten the cone and the other end of the pipe with clamps...Take the can and use a large tie wrap to tie it around the end of the filter and presto your very own intake...as custom as can be...Same performance as with other 1$100-$200 intakes...For about $50 bucks....Good luck and I will place pictures on here soon!!!

Have a look at this...It inspired me to make my own last fall

http://www.teamdelsol.com/howto/coldair/diycoldair.htm

NOw I'm going to extend my current 'cool' air intake to an Arospeed-like front-mount cold air intake using marine grade reinforced rubber tubing and my old K&N drop in filter...

Good luck,

I've seen pictures of camrys with cold air. Would you really notice any increase in power at the wheel though?

No CAI is basically for looks and IF ANY power it is hardly noticeable... even on a 5.0!

Why not?

Just use the info from that website as a reference and make the CAI to fit your engine.

Heres a pic of the CAI that I built for my car:

Is your filter located down in the fender now? Did you just rip out that plastic piece that was used to get air from in front of the battery?

Thanks,
Steve

Hey, best thing to do is goto http://www.jcwhitney.com and do a quick search there using "mandrel" (It think) from there find the dia. of pipe you want (2.5" OD is what I used) and look for the 180° version.
