Should I buy this 99 Solara!? Need advice please!

Ive been looking at this car and the guy is asking $3000 for it. Its a 99 solara and let me just post the description and the pictures:

Selling my 1999 Toyota solara, black on black leather, V6, 5 speed manual, with 117k miles, im the third owner, car has always been taken care of, oil changes are regular at 3000 miles, tire rotations are every 7k miles. nothing leaks on the bottom of the car, ac is blowing cold air, leather is in supreme condition, sunroof works perfect, windows go up and down, driver window is auto, shifts like it should smooth with no sounds, the clutch is in excelent condition was changed at 90k miles, the car performs excelent in snow, while other cars are stuck. will come with alarm/remote start, you have a radius of 2 city blocks to start it, has a safety so that it wont remotely start when in a gear. has an i pod connection so you can charge and play music on the pioneer system, JBL sound, when going 70 and pressing on the brake there is no vibrations, rotors are straight, wheel does not move. xenon lights in headlights and in fog lights (on one of the fog lights the bulb went out).
power driver sit, cd/mp3/ipod radio
Just put in new breaks front and rear. the car is original never was painted and never been in a serious accident,

I have a couple of dents on it, if you look at the right side fender you will see a dent there, but its the original parts, and the hood has a little dent see the pictures.

car runs and drive supper, engine is powerful and takes off when needed, 210HP. Xenon Headlights, with Xenon Fog lights, spoiler, remote start with alarm, very powerful JBL sound system, Tints, Supper nice tires, in great condition. 16 inch rims OEM.

the only thing you might want to change in future is the oxygen sensor, as the check engine light came on about a month ago, went to a dealer and he advised me that the O2 sensor needs to be replaced.

I had the car since 2007 and never had any problems with it,

last year I changed all struts and all the strut mounts with KYB struts, also changed bushings and right front control arm just because i wanted it to drive new.

I am in the military and deploying, need to sell it.

Is it worth buying for 3000? Yes? No? Any suggestions?

That actually sounds like a bargain - a little on the cheap side, but it looks like he just wants to get rid of it. Take it to a mechanic and get it checked out, and hopefully they'll have experience with being able to spot red flags that point to possible collision repair.

Sigh. 5spd 1MZ.. DROOL.

Thanks i think that is a good idea. Also, the car is not 5 speed like he said, it is actually 6 speed. If you look closely at the picture, the knob has 6 speed on there or is that aftermarket and i am just reading it wrong? What is 1mz?

^ The 1MZ-FE is the 3.0L V6 in that Solara. It's a great motor and it is very dependable if it was maintained well. As far as the transmission, there was no 6MT offered. Only 4AT or 5MT. AT = auto / MT = manual.

Good luck, I think it's worth checking out.

heheh 1mz-fe V6 engine never came with 6 speeds manual lol that knob is "aftermarket" he replaced the stock original one from Toyota. Oh boy, that car is good for that price, read ur other post in Solara forum !

Hopefully Toyota make 6 speeds Coupe in 2011 with their new sport car merging with SUbaru.
