Hey I just want to say im fairly new and this is a great forum and it has been really helpful. Thanks a lot guys! Ok, before people jump on me I have searched other posts but I want to make sure this is right. I'm getting a tune up at the dealer and I want to make sure I'm not forgeting anything that I should get done. (my moms paying for it so price isn't a big factor). This is what my dealership wants to do.
16 point imspection
fill fluids
oil filter change
air filter
coolant
replace spark plugs
rotate tires and pressure
A/C refresher
tranny drain & refill
battery cleaning
brake inspecion
clean and adjust rear brakes
fuel induction service
replace wipers
window washer fluid
wynn's oil & fuel additive
--for 450$ (which of course is over-priced)
Now... a lot of those things i don't want. i recently changed my oil and had the wheels rotated, and a new K&N filter. So I guess my question would be, can I just pick out things I want them to do, and then they add it all up. Because I also want my fuel filter changed. Please tell me if theres anything else you recommend I should get done. Thanks a lot everyone!! sorry for the long post!
I noticed with american cars, you do this type of 'tune up' thing and a week later, something goes wrong, and you end up paying 200 bucks or something to get that fixed.
Wow, 60,000 miles and they aren't doing the fuel filter? That should be part of the tune up. There should be a lot more things included in the 60,000. Normally 60k consists of a lot more maitenance than listed. I could be wrong though.
Toyota has no scheduled replacement interval for a toyota fuel filter for the life of the vehicle, unless it's determined to be defective or analysis requires replacement.

One of the dealerships here is actually pretty proactive about checking to see if you've already had pieces of their package deal done before they go ahead and do them. I'd wager if you talked with the peeps and told 'em your deal and that you don't want to pay for things you've already done, they'll cut you some slack.
Of course, the other toyota dealership in this area is notorious for trying to get money out of you no matter what... I think they're the exception rather than the norm, as far as Toyota shops go however.

Haven't you heard the motto with American Cars, "If it ain't broke don't fix it"
