08' Camry SE

Me and my wife are thinking of getting a newer Camry and selling our 93'. Is there anything i should know or whatch for on these 2.4L 08' Camrys? I guy I work with bought a new Camry (I dont now what size the motor is) and he had to get a brand new tranny put in with minimal miles on it. Is this an issue with the 4cyl or onle on the 6cyl's? If anybody can feed me some info that would be great. I love my camry and whould like to get a new one.

Thanks!!

Define minimal, if it was a warranty replacement of the transmission I'd say it was a fluke!

Well he bought the camry brand new. Around six months later he had to take it in for tranny work. I'm pretty shur he has the 6cyl. His tranny wasn't opperating smoothly. He like his old camry (the 93' one we bought from him)better shifting wise. He took it in and they fixed his tranny. Now I'm assuming this is the tranny issue im hearing on the 6cyl's on this forum. Correct me if im wrong..please. It sounds like on this forum that it's not an internal tranny issue rather than a mounting or fitting issue...True? But his camry couldn't of had more than a couple thousand miles on it. How are the 4cyls?

I'd still say if his tranny died after a few thousand miles that it was a fluke.

Naw, if it is a V6, there's a TSB out for shifting. it over revs before shifting gears. Not a problem for the 4cyl.
