I stripped one of the strut nuts when I tighten it.. what should I do?

There are 3 strut nuts on each side of the front assembly.

When I try to tighten one of them after I put new strut in... i stripped one, it now keep turning whenever I try to either losen it or tighten it..

what should I do?

get a new nut.

man, you shouldn't be doing this unless you have a torque wrench and the torque specs.

=)

i believe the noise is because of faulty strut mount, not the nuts, you should get the nut replace asap =)

back the nut out, if it won't go, then wedge a flathead screwdriver under the nut and pry it up while backing it out

Get a new strut mount, then use a nut spliter and broke the nut off. The threads on the mount are stripped not worth running a thread chaser throung it because of the safety factor involved. Better to be safe in this area.

Actually the bolt is long enough that after my nut went in and stripped, I still have some thread left that I can put another nut on top.... is it good idea to do so?

good luck trying to find the right size for those studs... I'm in the same boat as you are with the stripping of the stud and the nut. I actually found a really good deal on ebay for the new left and right strut mounts/plates so i went ahead a bought it.
