short in my brake wires?

I dont know wtf it is, but whenever I hit my brakes, its like everything on my dash kinda flashes, "door" light mainly. is this a short somewhere, or is it a possibility that my alternators goin out? I know I can get it checked out at my work, but i usually forget about it. How bout it, any takers on this?

I have the same problem. when I depress my brake pedal...my insturment cluster, my headlights....flicker. I think it's a loose ground wire. Although..it's been about over a month that it hasn't happened. weird. I musta hit like some bump and it musta fixed the loose ground.

my suggestion.... get a continuity tester...and check the wiring around your instrument cluster and door switch. I regrounded my door switch by sanding down the contact patch of it a bit more so that there's more of an exposed area for contact. Whatever I did.. I got lucky and the flickering went away.

good luck... Paul

Get somebody to watch your brake lights when having those kinds of problems. Burnt ground connections in late model tail light systems are very common today with the use of plastic and higher powered bulbs together. You may also consider removing the tail lights and do a thorough inspection for melted ares around the bulbs and their ground connections.
