2005 Toyota Camry

My husband and I just bought a used toyota camry and the dealership said it came standard with a keyless entry and trunk release. I bought a keyless entry with trunk release buttton, went out and programmed it but the trunk release still does not work. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the trunk release programmed

Don't forget to press and hold the trunk release button till the car beeps and the trunk opens.

do you hear the long beep indicating that the trunk is open? if so, check the cable linkage to see if it works properly
