My 2010 Toyota Camry with 1,500 miles has a clicking noise since day # 1. It would happen only once and after the car has been on (P) park and then shifted to (D). Exactly at 10mph as the car is going forward it comes the clicking noise from somewhere underneath the front by the wheels. The noise I would describe it as a clicking spring.
I didn't pay any attention thinking it's normal, but the clicking noise is not persistent meaning sometimes is louder than others but it's always there. It comes only once as I'm taking off and then is gone until the next time I park it again.
It's a brand new car and I called the dealer and asked a tech. He said it's normal due to the ABS adjusting itself as the car moves forward. I don't know about that, of course he said I have to drop it off to have it checked out.
I found this great forum and I want to see if this clicking noise is normal on new toyotas before I waste half day at the dealership.
Thanks.

Thanks, I feel better now. By the way mine is LE and my buddy has a 2009 SE and I test drove his the other day to see if it has the same clicking noise and it doesn't. Unless I didn't hear it could be there.
My 2001 Camry with ABS doesn't click like that, unless this is something in later model years (or I just haven't noticed). I'll have to go for a spin later and see.

The clicking noise is kind of anoying tough... Because of the fact it comes from a brand new car. I will probably still take it to the dealership to have it looked at.
I have the same noise with my 2007 LE 4cyl as well. I took it to the service. Its ABS self testing noise and it does that every time you start your car and when the speed reaches to 10mph. It makes the noise again at 20mph, which is less noticeable. I first did not believe it and tested it with another 2009 Camry in the service. It did exactly the same noise. It is normal.
Exactly! I did some research online about it, and there's nothing wrong with it. I found another forum where this noise is mentioned few times as well. The second clicking noise occurs at 20mph but I can only hear it when I'm inside a closed garage and it’s less noticeable that sometimes I don’t hear at all. I haven’t owned a Toyota in a while and over all I’m very happy with it.
Thank you.

My 2010 Camry has the same noise and comes out exactly as you described. If you want to hear louder noise, you need to park for at least 30min. The reason is to let the engine and connected parts to cool down. The Toyota specialist at one Toyota Service diagnosed as normal. His explanation is that: the noise comes from the connection point between engine and exhaust pipe. He said that, in the past, the exhaust part that connects to engine was made of metal, but now is made of hard plastic. When this hard plastic part is heated by the hot exhaust from engine, it expands and gives this click/cluck noise. That is why you hear just one time after you take off. As for my camry, the noise comes out within 30 feet after take off. I feel it annoy. Who knows if it is normal! If the plastic part expands so vigorously, can it be normal? We should ask Toyota to fix this problem!
If you have more information about this noise, please share with us. I want to know if every camry has this noise.
Thanks.

omg!! i'm so glad that i'm not the only one encouter this problem. so now i feel more comfortable. ya i have sent in my car for service for many times and they couldn't fix the problem, so today i went to the dealship again and tested it out with the tech guy, and he said it's the ABS noise. actually i don't really believe it but they said they cannot fix it. but after reading this post i felt that it's not only my car, i believe it's a design flaw. the noise IS annoying! i owned an old nissan and honda before and they NEVER give me any noises like that. so i guess toyota DO have design flaw in their cars. anyways, i felt much better after gone through this post. thank guys!

ya, i totally agree with ya, the clicking noise is annoying especially it comes from a brand new car, my old honda with abs system NEVER gives me any noises like that, how could u expect a brand new 2010 car can give u damn loud noises!

Yes, it is not a problem with just a few 2010 Camry cars. I am sure now it is a design flaw. However I hope it is not a big flaw that may threat driving safety! I found others complained about the same noise on another forum. In order to find out whether so called "Toyota specialist" is correct (please see my previous description), I did one more test with my 2010 camry as follows: I started the engine but still keep at Parking position, and then I pressed accelerating pedal to warm up the engine. I did not hear the nosie even when the engine temperature increased up to normal level of driving. And then I switched it to Driving position and start to drive, the noise came out after I drove for about 30 feet. So the answer given by the "specialist" is wrong. One time the noise sounded exactly the vibration of spring!
I was also annoyed with this noise problem, so took it to local dealer. I was told the same it's normal and caused by ABS.
Unfortunate thing is -- when you call any dealship and talked to Sales Manager or Service Manager and explained about this situation - they just say that they never heard about it. Example, I had called Power Toyota Buena Park/Anaheim/Cerritos - CA.
I had called Toyota's Customer Experience Center (1-800-331-4331)and filed a complaint(open a case). I would advise, all camry lovers/owners should do this and get Toyota's attention on this issue.
Hope TOYOTA keeps it's reputation of smooth/quite and comfortable ride...
