Canada Heated Steering Wheel

Last winter, I had a car with a heated steering wheel. I loved it, especially since it frequently gets to -30 here in the winter. It was great to drive with a warm wheel and not need gloves. Does anybody know if there is an after market heated steering wheel available for a 2009 Camry?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hang on now I live in Quebec, I find no need for a steering wheel heater, total waste of time. After about 30 seconds my hands are completely numb, no feeling at all, so why heat something you don't feel?

Actually good luck finding that. I have a feeling an after market steering wheel that is heated would be very expensive. You will be messing with airbags, and all the electrics involved. An I do not like the idea of a slip on cover.

I've never heard of anyone with a Toyota trying that mod. You might want to try poking around on a Nissan or Infiniti forum. I know that the 2000+ Infiniti I30 and I35 offered a heated steering wheel as an option. (Maybe other Infinti models offered it too, I'm not sure- but I remember ads specifically showing that feature on the I30/I35)

Maybe someone on the Nissan or Infiniti forums has desired that mod and tried to go through with it- it would probably be a compatible swap from the I30 to a Maxima, as they share similar platforms and parts. Search those forums and see if anything pops up- if it turns out that someone did a swap, or maybe was tempted to see if they could do something aftermarket, ask them how they did it.

Good Luck.

If you're gonna spend that kind of money maybe you should consider a remote starter and just aiming the heating vents at the steering wheel. I don't think there's a heated steering wheel for our cars anyway but even if there were it'd be a really pricey upgrade.
