Sorry to jump in on you guys' post, but I've got a question about the S-AFC...
What benefits (power gain) does it provide to an normally aspirated engine? Me and Andrew (trueno92) were debating about this tonight and I was wondering if you'd shed some light on the subject.

Thanks!
I've seen GT-S dynoed sheet with S-AFC (the car was 100% stock I think), there are very minimal gain like 3hp here and there.
But I would say it'll make a difference on a modified car that is at least i/h/e.
I'm very curious why just basic mods and a S-AFC will give pretty big power gains...
Example 1:

- 95 Prelude SRV dyno run stock, and then Intake/Exhaust with S-AFC. This one is Yoshio tuned tho...
Example 2:

- 00 Celica GT-S. Basic mods, CAI, exhaust, and S-AFC. 181 hp at the wheels!! Thats approx 210-215hp at the flywheel.
We all know that just intake and exhuast won't give those kind of gains (throughout the powerband too, not just peak hp)... so is the AFC really making that much of a difference? Do tell! I'm very curious!

Are you sure that's S-AFC not V-AFC? Yoshio might have also tuned his Vtec so that's not quite the same like other NA cars.

Well think of it this way, our stock fuel map is tuned for fuel economy, it'll always run a little bit lean in low-end and rich in top-end. Adding i/e might alter the air/fuel mixture (it all depends, some cars do have more strictive intake/exhaust system some don't) so by tuning it to the optimal condition it might gain 5hp or so... just like on the celi dyno... 6hp gain with SAFC semi-tuned.
