I have decided to get new rotors - i am gettin some brembo crossed drilled, i just gotta decide if i want the cadmium plating or not... i thikn the gold is kinda pimpin, but not sure- any opinions.. .here are pics

just seeing if anyone has a strong opinion either way
i think the anti-rust of the cad's is great, but not sure of how well it is worth it

=)

from what i've known, cadium plating will not increase stopping performance.

Someone told me cadium plating rotor will last longer, but i might be wrong.

if you want the looks, then by all means get them, but if you want performance, i would recommand solid rotor.

Based on my experience, after not get my rotors cad coated, I'd suggest you spend the extra few bucks. My rotors rusted like a biatch and look horrible. I say go with silver. Gold is too "in your face". The last thing you wanna do is bring unwanted attention to your pathetic puny rotors

yeah taht is true- the v6 rotors aren't THAT small, but they are not very big either- doesn't cad plating only come in gold though? that is why i ask... i am a silver person but for some reason i think the gold rotors just look kinda pimpin- especially with the drills

i've seen black cadmium plated discs b4...guess its more for a sleeper look?

if its plated a colour, would it wear off where the pads clamp on? for example, if its plated black, would the black wear off and show silver?

cadmium is made only to help prevent rust. It won't help stopping power. Cadmium comes in different shades of finishing. A yellow, a blue, an olive drab, a black, and another one i think. I don't know what colors they would choose for the rotors though. I konw the final coating for the color also provides different levels of rust prevention. If i remember correctly, the yellow coating performed best in the salt test, which is used to test corrosion. Also watch out, cadmium is highly toxic and many companies are getting out of playing for other more environmentally safe and cheaper methods of plating such as nickel. I dont know how well nickel would work on rotors though.
