what is this switch?

What is this sensor or switch in a 2.2 L 5sfe camry 1995. (indicated with the red arrow, unfotunately the pic is not complete). Thanks

That's a really crappy pic. But it could be either the knock sensor or the engine coolant temp sensor (probably the latter). That's the two closest things on the diagram I have.

Its a oil pressure switch.

The knock sensor is on the back of the block and the engine coolant temp sensor (ECT) is on a neck that bolts to the right side of the cylinder head.

The knock sensor is on the back of the block ?


would someone give me an idea where on the back of the block?

the knock sensor should be on the back of the head. just below your valve cover, at the top of the head.. to the very left (if youre facing the motor and your windshield).. this pic is from gen 4's but i dont think gen3's had the knock sensor in a different place
