Question opinions on TRD air filter

Hi, I'd like to get opinions on the TRD air filter for the Camry. Personal experience on how noisy the engine was after installation and if there was a noticeable power or throttle response decrease or increase. As well as any other comments or observations about it.

It only asks to be replaced/cleaned every 30k miles, and at $53, it seems like a good buy.

Thanks

very quiet... could barely hear it. it's washable so it's good as long as you use a cleaning kit. performance gain is marginal but it's there...

The TRD filter is just a rebadged K&N air filter. I have one in my car, it's quiet, but over 3K RPM it has more of a growl to it than the stock paper filter. I think it's a worthwhile mod, but I wouldn't expect a lot of HP out of it...

yeah.. just buy the K&N one, they are the same. But don't expect to gain anything out of it with stock engine.

Not anymore, toyota has the company AFE making filters for them. Supposed to correct the engine light problem that sometimes occured.

the trd and the k&N filter perform exactly the same....they can't perform any better than without a filter, and that's exactly what my k&n filter did on the dyno.....w/ and w/o, the numbers were the same...I would think that the trd would be just as good

If you're looking to buy the TRD air filter, buy it b/c you want the option of being able to save money in the long run by not having to throw out your paper filter every year. Otherwise, if you're looking for horsepower gains- it's a waste of money.

I've been using a TRD air filter for close to 2 years and haven't noticed any power gains. The only noticeable difference, as one user has already put, is that the engine noise is louder and deeper at higher rpm's. Especially with the V6

thats the sad part about most TRD products...they are simply just rebadge with the TRD name......the only products i consistently use are their short shifter kits.....in my AE86 coupe n now in the MR2.....
