'91 V6 engine compatability

Brother looking at a 'creampuff' loaded '91 Camry LE V6 auto. Engine was overheated however and he wants to know what year engines are compatible. Kind of in a hurry or I would just wait to research it. He also wants to know if there were/are any issues to consider. All I remember was something with the power locks/windows shorting. (I will be researching but if someone knows the answer(s) off the top of their heads it would be helpful.) Thanks.

hmmmm not so sure... usually just the 87-91 v6 will be a straight swap... the ES250 uses the same engine you can also get those... the later camry uses a 3.0L v6 so it's more work

Thanks, yeah looks like only the '88-'91 Camry and Lexus ES 250's used a direct replacement engine. 2Vz fe, I think. He says it's really low miles for that age and is super clean inside and out. Sunroof and power everything so it may be worth a replacement engine.
