I have a '97 Camry, and it's always blown warm air, even if "outside air" and "cool" are selected. I guess it's just the air passing through the engine, but is there any way to make this stop? It would be nice for it to actually just let outside air come through the vents. Does this happen on all Camrys?

First off, you're in Texas. What did you expect? Cool air

Seriously though, I have the opposite problem as you. I can only get luke warm air in the cabin. I think the prob might be caused by miscalibration of the wire mechanism that regulates the direction of the air passing the heater core or something to that effect. Anyways, I'm to lazy, not to mention cheap to fix the prob.

What happens when you turn the A/C on?

I don't think we ever really get air straight from outside without it passing through some core or something. I basically have one button for recirculate or fresh and that's it. However, in my dad's car, it has that same button, plus a lever so that it gets air straight from outside...none of the heater settings will affect the air temp.

Hey another Houston guy. And here I thought I was alone. What part are you from? I'm in the Humble/Kingwood area.

Leave the the vent on recirculation and leave the temp setting neutral and leave the blower aimed only on your feet...this could get rid of the air and or make your feet only feel the air

Phi, about u only getting luke warm air... i noticed the same thing. if you want hot air try sliding the temp to almost the end but not quite, at least in my 88 if i slide the bar all the way to the end for hot air it doesent work, i push it back a little and get hot air. probably could fix it but who cares...
