Wuttup guys, where would be the best place to get my clutch replaced? Now i need some where that will just do the installation because i plan on getting the part (itself) from somewhere else. also how much am i looking at just for the installation?
i got a quote from some local shop cost around $500 for parts and labor for a gen3 i4, imagine the parts will cost around $100 to $200, so the labor must cost around $200 to $400, i've read somewhere the whole transamission will be dropped to replace the clutch.
^That price sounds about right. When the dealership was putting a new motor in my car I had them put a new clutch in there while they were at it, and it came to around a hundred and a half for the clutch (and all related misc parts). They said it would've been around $400 more if I waited to do it at a later date.
I've never done it, but from what I hear it's not that difficult to do it yourself -- just time consuming. Just need access to a decent jack.
Oh, don't forget the flywheel resurfacing if you do it yourself.
