hissing from front wheels

My 95 camry seems to be falling apart. Now, when I drive I hear a noise like a steam train hissing as the wheels rotate. The fatser I go, the faster the 'steam train' effect. Any ideas? Thanks.

Does it change when you apply the brakes?

no, it just gets slower as the wheels turn slower, like a steam train slowing down.

your brake caliper might be stuck. check (carefully by hand) if one front wheel is hotter than the other.

jack up the car and in nuetral by hand turn each wheel to determine which is causing the problem. Once you determine this remove the wheel then take the brake caliper off the mount and tie it to the side out of the way. Bolt the wheel back on and spin it again. If you still have the noise look into the wheel bearings as the source. Do not let anybody step on the brake pedal while the caliper is off!
