What rims do you think I should buy for my 99 gold camry. 17" or 18"? The 17's are less money, but do the 18's look a lot better? I ask because I have never seen a camry with 17 or 18 inch rims before (in person) and a lot of you guys have probably seen 'em both.

Its up to you in the end, but it it was me on a gold 99 camry, I would go either polished/silver finish rims in 17".
18" looks in my opinion too large and requires a lower than average drop to make it look right. Besides, if you value your kidneys you'll buy the 17's.
wel i have 18's on my car and i would never wanna switch to 17's after. i like he bigger look of the rim. granted i dont have a '99 but on my '92 they look good.and the ride is not that harsh but it does feel a lot better when it comes to handling. if you got 17's or 18's the drop would prettyy much be the same, its the same height either way. i would go wit 18's.
i have 17s, i think im gonna get 18s later on, because i like the look better. right now i decided to go with a better looking rim for less money. choosing btw 17s and 18s i would go for a rim that looks better rather than bigger tho- and get either bigger tires or better ones.
Alright, 17's it is. The 18's are a worse design (imo) and were more expensive. Also you guys mentioned comfort which does matter to me. Anyway, thnx for the help, and I'll post pics once I get 'em installed and everythng
i really don't understand this whole comfort thing. how many of you guys have actually drivin your car on 18's. the comfort is not bad at all so when you say that "for more comfort go with 17's" doesn't make sense. i mean if you have drivin on both 17's and 18's on the same car and you felt the difference thats one thing but if you drove in 2 different kinds of cars with 2 different sets of rims you can make a good observation. i say go with 18's the ride is good, the look is good, and the peformance is good.

Pfft... to hell with both those sizes, ill take a lightweight 16" over either of those sizes. Unless your a cash cow and can afford lightweight 17" or 18" wheels (volk, ssr, oz...)
i'm gonna put my 18 inchers back on soon as the weather is getting better. let's face it... if you're gonna drive the same with 18's as you did with your stock 15's then you better think again. ride quality does depend on how much rubber you got between you and the road BUT it also depends on driving technique. sure, you gotta be more aware of potholes, speed bumps, curbs... but hey, that's the sacrifice for bigger wheels. it takes some getting used to but after awhile it just becomes automatic.
my thought is: "if i'm gonna spend all that money on my wheels (which are mostly for show btw - lord knows i have enuff speeding tickets) i'm gonna go all out"
Actually, I think 16" is enough! 17" or 18", you have to see the weight of the rim. 17" and 18", you have to make they are light weight, else just like what Elegantcam said slower acceleration.
Also, if your Camry is 4cycl, I think 16" is enough; if your Camry is V6, 17" is ok.
Glad you guys are talking about this, I am in the market now deciding between 17'' and 18''. To keep the same accleration as the stock 16'' sounds like a lighter rim is a good idea.
My question is this, going with a lighter rim, is it easier to get it bent ? I live in Chicago, lot's of pot holes. I was looking at Konig Tantrums, anyone know how they are ?
