camry airbag into corolla S steering wheel?

Hi Guys

I found a 2004 corolla S steering wheel (similar to the celica?) but it does not have an airbag. is it possible to put my camry 2000's airbag into it and make it work properly? If i cannot do this, where can I buy or get the airbag for the corolla S wheel?

thanks

just put in the steering wheel w/o the airbag. i personally don't like airbags at all and am really glad that my gen2 never came with one. if you wanna try to take out your 2000 camry airbag make sure that the battery is disconnected and that you've let the car sit for at least 20-30 mins with the battery disconnected so that the airbag's capacitor can discharge otherwise you'll be in a world of pain if it goes off. pull the steering wheel, take out the airbag and see if it fits in. but if it were me i'd just put on the bitchin 04 steering wheel as is.

I'm not a fan of airbags either, but I don't think it's a good idea to suggest that somebody alter and disable the airbag. If you ever get into a serious accident and the insurance co. discovers that you intentionally disabled the airbag, they will screw you at a time you desparately need them.

well on my gen2 i'm using an 89 corolla gts steering wheel. because toyota uses the same spline pattern on all its steering wheels, the 04 corolla s wheel should bolt right on. the only mod i had to do to make mine fit was to take the steering column cover off and widen the hole so that the bigger hub of the corolla wheel would fit in the cover. it looks sweet too.

the steering wheel will fit in your 2000 LE, but as for the airbag from the 2002 SE fitting into your 04 rolla wheel i'm not sure.
