4th Generation Another CEL P1780...

I'm hoping someone can provide some guidance on the problem I've been having...

So recently I received the CEL code, P1780 which revolves around the nuetral safety switch. The same problem with all the other camrys in the other posts which had the reverse light showing although you were in drive. The back up light on the dash was also on. After checking in the trunk, I noticed where the wires had been pinched and cut by the trunk arm on the driver side trunk. I extended the wires, erased the code and it did not come back on for another 2 weeks. Here's where the big problem occured ...All of a sudden after driving around two weeks later and parking the car for an hour, when i got back in to start the car none of my light on my dash are working any longer. The RPM, Speedometer, mileage indicator, and everything else on the dash is no longer working/lit up. When I put the car in drive, it will never get out of first gear and basically just revs up. I have not yet changed the Neutral Safety Switch itself on the transmission as of yet since that is the next possibility. I highly doubt its the ECM but I'm not sure at this point as I've never seen anything like this. In reading through all of the other posts, could this be one of the two reasons? The actual Neutral Safety Switch senson or ECM? When running my code reader again I received the message..."Manufacturer: Transmission...P1780"

I'm hoping at this point its the switch and only the switch as the neutal safety cable itself seem to be fine. I'll re-check again just to be sure.

Thoughts anyone?
