Unhappy Engine cover for a camry?

I recently bought a 1999 Camry V6 CE which I swear came with a large black (plastic?) cover (about 1 x 2 feet) that attached to the top of the engine.

I just had the oil changed and noticed when I picked my car up that this cover was missing, but my mechanic has no idea what I am talking about. I asked my local Toyota dealer about whether my car came such a cover and they couldn't help me either.

Has anyone seen such a cover and do you know what it is called exactly?

Karen

damn careless service department goons. nothing against mechanics cause i am one but sometimes the people dealerships hire should be working at mcdonalds instead of working on cars. i think that little black piece is called the fuel rail cover or at least that's what i'd call it. you can always check out tap recycling if ya wanna get a used one cheap.

If you did originally have one, you would definitely notice empty bolt holes on your valve cover(s). It's purely aesthetic though, so no performance worries. Probably flows air better without it

print out that picture and take it to the stupid mechanic... get your shit back... you pay too much for labor charges to get shit ripped off from you... i have a pic in my sig too, but its the one for the gen 3. the newer one had like half of the black cover that mine has. mine covers the front plugs, and yours doesnt.

btw, phi, how many horse do you get from that TRD oil cap?
