How to paint the steering wheel

Hey guys

after much research, i realize i do not want to lose my airbag or cruise control on my stock steering wheel, so no aftermarket wheel for me. I thought about painting my steering wheel black and using a good leather cover with it. How would i go about painting it black? Besides black spray paint, what else would i need? I've did a little searching, and some people mention you need to use sandpaper??? (or is this only on the plastic stuff like the dash?) but what about on the steering wheel (made of vinyl???)

Ask Luistol; he painted his entire interior black and it looks awesome. He sprayed it thought (I think) but it still looks great.

you can get good black vynil upholstry spray, it works pretty good

i don't think you need to sand it, but i'd wash it before, maybe use rubbing alcohol

Well you get fusion paint that sticks to plasic.....
make sure to use some figure nail polish remover first and then spray away
Maybe 2 cans of ir for you wheel? maybe! i would buy just one thin thin coats tho
