on a budget-what mods?

right now i have 410 bucks saved up and im still having struggles on what to spend it on. i think ill use ~50 of it for a diy cai, then do suspension from there starting with tokico/eibach, but that will run about 525 (price from ctmotorsport) so id have to save some more. thoughts on the importance of a strut tower bar? if you have any opinions on my budgeting, please voice them

strut tower bar strengthens the chassis. It is a great complement to a new suspension system. Definately get it if you're going to do suspension.

I'd have to disagree w/ oldman......a strut bar would be the best bang for the buck.....for 50bucks, you can totally change the handling of your car....

$525 is pricey I think. Try shopping around else where, like ebay. I got some Intrax springs on there new for $110 with shipping. Bought some KYB for like $175. Just take your time and shop around, don't rush. If you do, that's when you spend a lot. But yeah, Eye8Pussies is right get the strut bar. Its like 8 bucks at most, unless you want a name brand one it'll cost you more. There are also the options of getting sway bars as well, which run you about close to $200 for front and rear. Just depends on what you want to do.

i really dont think a strut bar by itself will do very much. i had the trd strut bar installed on my car alone just to see what it'd do and i did not notice any improvement in body lean/roll. for only 30 dollars more, i got the trd sway bar, which made a huge difference in turning the corners. if you want looks and performance go with a set of springs and struts. that way you get the best of both worlds. this is just my opinion of course. good luck with what ever it is you choose to do.

does the quality of the strut bar matter? like oldman said, the ones on ebay that are like 10 bucks, is there a reason to get a namebrand one?

the brand doesnt really matter, unless you want the brand name plate there. just make sure you dont get some flimsy aluminum bar that bends and flexes really easy. i've seen some that bent pretty easily and others that are SOLID.

Strut bars do not make a huge difference by themselves. They make a difference, but not a huge one. I would go with springs and struts before anything else. They will definitely transform the feel of your car. Faster in corners and safer to drive as it is much easier to control in emergency situations.

hmmm...yeah....I don't know if the strut bar makes a big diff all by itself, but when I got it, I had the car lowered w/ eibachs already, and it made a big diff then......

and I think the strutbars are all teh same, as long as they are strong enough not to flex w/ everything else, then they're doing their job
