need help fixing radio

the backlight on my lcd screen went out on my radio (stock), i doubt anybody would know but what is the specs for that led, because i tried using different powered ones and my bigger one smokes when i turn the car on. if you dont know, where could i find this information out?

Could be many things and I fear that only a professional would be able to check, it also might become more expensive to repair than buying a new one , unless if you a have a friend who is in the business...

considering the age of your stereo, I'd say just go to a junker and pick up a "new" one and just swap the whole thing, or use it as an excuse to get an aftermarket headunit

meh, though it would be nice, i'd rather not spend the money on a new deck

would the toyota factory manual have this kind of information in it?

i'd bring the led into a good electronics shop, and see if one of the pros can't figure it out

if not, then with a multimeter you might be able to find the correct one
