Question progressive illumination mod?

Anyone have any idea on how to go about implementing a mod to get the same "progressive dash illumination" effect? This has been implemented in Lexus vehicles for years now, and recently the Accord has adopted it. I don't want my Camry left behind

I found a description, sounds like it just fades in/out, right?

If so, all you would need is a capacitor in parallel with your dash light feed wire, after the dimmer. (anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!) As far as the value goes, the larger the value, the longer the rise/fall time. It's hard to say what value to start with without knowing the resistance of the dimmer and dash lights, but I'd say a rather large (not like 1F car audio, more like 100uF) one will be necessary.
