91/96 auto trans.

I have a '91 camry with an A140L trans. that needs replacing. The only ones I can find for that year have been the A140E. I've found several shops that have the A140L but out of the later '94s, '95s and '96s with the larger 2.2 engines. Are these transmissions the same? Will one of these work in my '91 with the 2.0 engine? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
